Your Money Novice Entrepreneur Competition / Workshop & Business Expo

We have an average of 1200 people in attendance each year, this year we aim to have 2000 people present.

We also propose to break the largest business speed networking record by having 670 people participating.

This will be hosted at the Nongaza Jebe Hall in New Brighton and it will take place on the same day as the Novice Entrepreneur Workshop and Business Expo on 26 May.

The program for the day as follows:

Your Money Novice Entrepreneur Competition, One Day Practical Workshop:

07:00 – 08:30)    Exhibitors, Sponsors and Visitors to Mingle in the Exhibition Room.

08:30 – 09:00)    Welcome by the Mayor, Dr. Danny Jordaan (TBC)

More than 300 aspiring Entrepreneurs attending the workshop and “Dragon’s Den”.

09:00)                    Introduction on Entrepreneurship, what it takes to be an Entrepreneur and their characteristics.

09:10)                    How to compile a comprehensive business plan.

09:20)                    Finding a suitable name for your business.

09:30)                    How to ensure your business is viable/sustainable. How to make profit from your business?

09:40)                    How to Market your Business on a Shoe string Budget, social media, etc.

09:50)                    How to draw up a quote for a prospective client, establishing a business profile/CV.

10:00)                    Coffee Break

10:15                     How to dress for success and address top CEO’s of a company. “If you don’t know it, fake it till you got it.”

10:25)                    Business etiquette: What to do and what absolutely not to do in business.

10:35)                    How to pitch your business to prospective clients.

10:45)                    How to establish who your Target Market are and how to reach them effectively.

10:55)                    The difference between the jockey and the horse.

11:05)                    Novice Entrepreneurs to submit their business ideas, including name, surname, ID and proposed business name. “Dragons”/Judges convene to choose the Top 15 entries.

11:05)                    Participants of the Business Networking Event get their seats and be informed on the technical aspects of the record setting.

11:20)                    The official networking starts.

13:00)                    The networking record breaking attempt completed and breaking for lunch.

14:00)                    The Top 15 Finalists of the Novice Entrepreneur competition to be announced and each of them will have 5 minutes to pitch their business idea to the panel.

15:30)                    The Judges announce the Top 4 businesses.

16:30)                    End of Expo.
