Blackbeards restaurant founded by Harold Ron and Beaty Franklin in September 1975 the restaurant has just celebrated its 43rd year of service to the hospitality industry in Port Elizabeth This well known Port Elizabeth family of restauranteurs and hoteliers trace their roots back to the 1820 settlers who came out on the Chapman, one of the first British ships to enter Algoa bay in April 1820.
Blackbeards takes its name from the notorious, Edward (Blackbeard) Teach who was a notorious English pirate in the Caribbean Sea and Western Atlantic during the early 18th century, a period referred to as the Golden Age of Piracy. His best known vessel was the Queen Anne's Revenge, which is believed to have run aground near Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina in 1718.
In addition to the large array of seafood dishes, the Blackbeards menu offers a wide selection of beef, chicken, vegetarian, pasta and pizza dishes Vegan Meals upon request, limited Halaal & Kosher.
