1/2 Day City Tour

Follow in the footsteps of the past to explore the rich heritage of Nelson Mandela Bay. Architectural brilliance dating back to the 1700’s adorns the streets of Port Elizabeth with influences ranging from Victorian and Edwardian to Gothic and Cape-Dutch, reflecting the culture and elegance of days gone by.
The three-hour tour will take you past the City Hall in Market Square, the Port Elizabeth Library where Queen Victoria’s statue keeps a watchful eye on the city and the Prester John Monument. The tour marches past Fort Frederick, The Cenotaph, St George’s Park, Prince Alfred’s Guard Memorial, the Horse Memorial and Settlers Park. Number 7 Castle Hill, the oldest surviving settler cottage in Port Elizabeth, dates back to 1827 and will give you a glimpse of history with its display of exquisite Victorian furniture and household items. The Donkin Reserve Pyramid and Lighthouse, possibly the most famous landmarks in Port Elizabeth, also form part of the tour together with a variety of other sites to give you a round trip of the historical roots that support the beautiful Nelson Mandela Bay.
