KASI CRAFT BEER LAUNCHED IN NELSON MANDELA BAY

Kasi Craft beer launch

Thursday, 14th July 2016: Celebration took place in Nelson Mandela Bay after months of hard work turned creative ideas between two local entrepreneurs into a potential thriving business. Kasi Craft beer was launched by Mr Siyabulela Mandla from 469 Bar Lounge and Mr Karl Schlaphoff Dockside Brewery.

The collaboration showcases not only the great business minds but also the diversity of craft beer culture in Nelson Mandela Bay. The collaboration has brought a unique and authentic flavor to the fore.

The launch incorporated the story and viewing at Dockside Brewery where Kasi Craft Beer is brewed which was then followed by a tour to 469 Bar and Lounge in Motherwell where patrons were welcomed by an infusion of music from the decks and African drums. All this accompanied by traditional African cuisine and Kasi Carft beer.

Township tourism contributes a large portion to the unique attractiveness of a destination and the Kasi Craft local brew to be enjoyed at a local establishment adds great options to township tours. In addition the process of the craft beer being brewed can be toured at Dockside Brewery who has moved to their exciting new premises at The Grand Hotel.

Mr Siyabulela Mandla shares, “From humble beginnings I am proud to be the first to lead the way in a Kasi Craft beer brewed in Nelson Mandela Bay showing that great ideas and hard work pays off. I hope to entertain many locals and visitors at 460 Bar-Lounge in the near future.”

CEO of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, Ms Mandlakazi Skefile shares, “We are excited to collaborate with the business owners to market their products that will entertain both tourists and locals as this adds value to the tourism offering of the destination. Township tourism has enormous potential to stimulate local economy and we congratulate the entrepreneurs for recognizing and harnessing the opportunity in the destination.”

Dockside Brewery spokesperson, Jane Schlaphoff confirmed, “We are enjoying the collaboration where we are creating a beer for the people by the people. We made a beer, listened to the feedback and then we launched Kasi Craft.”
