MARK WORKER’S DAY WITH A HYSTERICAL JOURNEY FROM JOEY RASDIEN’S POINT OF REFERENCE

Joey Rashdien

The crazy, brazenly-funny headline comedian and actor, Joey Rasdien, will perform his latest one-man production Point of Reference for his Port Elizabeth fans on 1 May 2016 at The Boardwalk Amphitheatre. He is currently touring the country with the show, leaving fans doubled over with laughter in his wake.

Rated one of South Africa’s comedic heavyweights, Joey is also a seasoned television actor and also a star of several local films. Joey’s latest role is as the star of the upcoming action comedy Blitzpatrolie. Joey’s characteristic style of understating the social, political, moral and ethical questions facing everyone today in his effortless comic way belies his immense intellectual powers. This has resulted in Joey being described as having a stage persona that is “intellectually absurd and physically hysterical”, keeping audiences in stitches.

In this latest show, Joey delivers his special blend of thought provoking  comedy, dealing with how different people perceive exactly the same things in society today.  These perceptions are reactions based on one's point of reference. A person's point of reference is determined by various factors - including race, education, privilege and culture. In Point of Reference, Joey takes his audience on a hysterical journey – from his point of reference.

“Authentic South African comedy by one of our country’s most sought after comedians; what a way to mark Worker’s Day. Don’t miss Joey in his latest off the wall production, presented for the first time in Port Elizabeth,” says Nqobile Majozi, Marketing Manager at The Boardwalk.
