TRANSNET EYE INVESTEC NIGHT RELAY HONOURS

The powerful running teams from Transnet are keen to use tomorrow nights (Thursday 10th) Investec Night Relay at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to cement their position within the Series.

With two wins out of two in the Mixed teams category and one win and a second place in the Men's Category, the Transnet Lions teams are determined to get back onto the winning podium for Round 3 which starts at 6pm on Thursday night from within the Stadium. All that stands between the Transnet teams and total domination this season is a very determined, and fast, Gamble Pharmacy Team which has yet to unleash their star performer, local Olympic running star Lusapho April.

All teams will be looking forward to using this month's Investec Night Relay as a final training session ahead of the inaugral Nelson Mandela Bay Train Race which takes place on Sunday 27th July between Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage Stations. Transnet, obviously very keen to ensure that their teams do exceptionally well in the return of this epic Man vs Machine event.

"We're looking forward to another great evening of team building and networking for the companies at the Stadium tomorrow night during round 3," said Mike Zoetmulder of Zports. "with just one more race night to follow in August it's getting down to the business end of the Series and some really hot racing is expected."

Also included in the Investec Night Relay Series is a walking category for teams of 3 walkers which is currently being dominated by the fast walking team from Bluewater Bay Athletics Club with two wins out of two this season. The Rawstron family and the walkers from Whitfield Fintax are favourites to be in the medals this month. In the Ladies category newcomers last month,Aquabear ladies, had a exceptional race to take out the gold from Wimpy and hosts, Access Management, and these will be the teams to watch on the night.

Late entries for Round 3 are possible at the venue from 4.30pm, racing starts at 6pm followed by Prize giving at 8.30pm with R1,000 cash up for grabs in the lucky draws and BOS refreshment for all participants.
