Your Pass to Nelson Mandela Bay

18 May 2010

Your Pass to Nelson Mandela Bay
Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism has followed in the footsteps of other international cities by developing a Nelson Mandela Bay Pass in view of the influx of tourists during the 2010 Soccer World Cup, although it has not been designed for the World Cup only. The smart cards will allow visitors access to various attractions within the Bay and surrounds and offers discounts and free purchases at selected stores, restaurants, museums and various other attractions.

The Pass is well on its way with only a few final touches left before completion. Currently the booklet accompanying the Pass has already gone to print and software and hardware components of the Pass are at its final stages. The Nelson Mandela Bay Pass, which will be launched at the 2010 Tourism Indaba in Durban, will be tested in May to insure that the infrastructure and software of the Pass are in place and running smoothly.

Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism are still looking for restaurants in the Bay to get involved in this initiative by offering special rates to Pass holders. These specials will be featured on the Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism website, and will be downloadable in a pdf document. If you are interested in becoming part of this marketing initiative, please contact Doné Louw on +27 041 582 2575 or dlouw@nmbt.co.za.
