UPDATE ON WATER SUPPLY IN NEWTON PARK AND SURROUNDS
16 July 2025
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents that our teams worked through the night to repair the damaged pipeline. Progress was delayed due to the presence of other infrastructure above the water line, which first had to be carefully exposed and removed.
Backfilling of the excavation site is taking place this morning, and water supply is expected to be gradually restored from around midday. Please note that normal pressure levels will only be fully restored overnight.
Unfortunately, both the Fairview and Fort Nottingham reservoirs have run dry, which has extended the impact of the outage to areas such as Korsten, Neave, Schauderville, Kempston and surrounding areas. Full recovery of the system is expected to take a few days.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and thank residents for their continued patience and understanding.
