Impact Community Theatre Company proudly presents the return of one of the year’s most popular musical events – Blast from the Past! This high-energy celebration of classic hits is back and better than ever, promising two unforgettable hours of toe-tapping, sing-along magic that spans four decades of chart-topping favourites.

Whether you grew up with the rock ‘n’ roll rhythms of the '50s, grooved through the disco-fuelled '70s, or discovered the golden oldies through a Guardian’s of the Galaxy playlist — there’s something for everyone. This year’s show features a dynamic lineup of top local talent bringing to life the music of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Billy Joel, Queen, and even ACDC — all in one incredible show!

A Star-Studded Cast, Past Meets Present
Directed for the first time by local theatre icon Annaline Stiglingh, with Jody Koesnel returning as Vocal Director, Blast from the Past showcases a sensational mix of returning Impact favourites and exciting new faces.
Back on the Savoy stage is international star Jody Butler, best known to fans as the unforgettable 2013 Pirate King. It’s a Hairspray reunion for the stars of Impact’s 2023 hit, Hairspray – Hannah Stiglingh, Mark Phelps, and Lethabo Makuruetsa – all ready to wow audiences once again. Expect some vocal fireworks from Impact favourites Oceana Petrus, Monique Tobias, Chris Cressey, and Sharné Osborne, alongside rising stars from NMU, Sisipho Mangqishi, Liyabukwa France, and Licebo Mose.

From timeless ballads to high-voltage rock anthems, this year’s Blast takes audiences on a magical ride through the music that defined generations. Rock around the Clock, sing along with Sweet Caroline, get Footloose, feel the thrill of Still Standing, and, of course, Don’t Stop Believin’!
