Kimberley Diamond Cup Grand Slam Qualifier – Gqeberha Skateboarding Event 2025

South Africa’s top skateboarding talent hits Gqeberha! The Kimberley Diamond Cup (KDC) Grand Slam Qualifier takes place on 6 September 2025 at the vibrant Kings Beach Skatepark, offering an action-packed day of elite competition and community celebration.

Hosted by the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism, in partnership with key stakeholders, this event is a qualifying round for the prestigious Kimberley Diamond Cup Championship happening in Kimberley on 6 December 2025.

Skateboarders from across South Africa—and beyond—will compete for a R100,000 prize purse and a coveted spot in the national championship. Expect high-flying tricks, fierce competition, and a showcase of world-class talent.

Featured athletes include:

• Jean Marc Johannes – KDC ambassador and one of South Africa’s most decorated skateboarders

• Boipelo Awuah and Brad Bailey – recently represented South Africa at an international competition in Russia (August 2025)
