Miss Commonwealth South Africa – Eastern Cape Workshops

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in partnership with Miss Commonwealth South Africa presents an empowerment workshop for young women in the Eastern Cape. The search is on who will be crowned Miss Commonwealth SA 2017! Entries are now open.

If you are a local beauty between the ages of 20-32years this is your chance to enter the Miss Commonwealth SA Young women empowerment project. Do not miss out on the annual free empowerment workshop that will be held at NMMU South Campus (Summerstand), first floor Council Chamber - Saturday, 13 May with registration starting at 11h00.

The workshop will be facilitated by Msondezi Matyila, a representative from NMMU and Ngawethu Ka-Siphiwo who is the national director of the pageant and Miss Commonwealth SA 2014, a product of beauty pageants.

The workshop aims to give skills to potential entrants in the line of grooming, education, entrepreneurship, self grooming and general tips on how to stand out when participating in national pageants. We have the following speakers confirmed Nosi Ncoyo – CEO of Vision4her Academy, Miranda Herbst - Mrs Commonwealth SA 2014 and Xabisa James – Glamour Communications. Asanda Mchunu Miss Teen Commonwealth 2016 will be the MC for the day.

Miss Commonwealth SA is a charity crown and at the core of communities in need. “The pageant aims to give a platform to young women from all walks of life by grooming them to be charity and cultural ambassadors” says Ngawethu Ka-Siphiwo who is also the founder of Zingce foundation NPO, a foundation that specializes in teenage development and women empowerment.
