PE Music Society concert - Two Sopranos

And so, we have arrived at the last concert in the 2019 series - and what a grand finale it is going to be!! We will experience CORLEA BOTHA and AMIRA WILLIGHAGEN, two of South Africa’s most well-known and popular sopranos in concert on Wednesday, 23 October 2019. 

On a request of both Corlea and Amira, we have invited the Nelson Mandela University Choir -with conductor, Junita van Dijk, - to join them in this wonderful evening celebrating the human voice. The choir will do a short introduction in both halves!

We want to thank you all for your support in 2019. Financially it was a difficult year and concert attendance was mostly lower than expected. Next year, 2020, is the PE Music Society’s 80th birthday year, and we are planning some interesting events and concerts. I hope that we can count on your support once again!

VERY IMPORTANT:

There is a lot of interest shown in this concert, and we will have no pre- bookings. What we want is for you to phone Theresa on 041 5042250 (office hours) or Erika on 0823084494 to “reserve” the number of tickets you require. You can pick up the tickets not later than 45 minutes before the concert starts!! There are only 430 tickets available - to prevent disappointment please phone to pre-book your tickets.

Tickets for non-members are R95 for adults, R80 for pensioners, R40 for students and R35 for learners and can be paid for on collection at the door.

Within the next few weeks you will also receive the 2020 concert schedule, and I urge all existing members to renew their membership as soon as possible. Of course, we also want to see new members joining our very special Society. New subscription forms as well as the concert schedule will be available from our secretary, Theresa Cunliffe.
