Dust down your platforms, pull on those flares and get ready to hit the dance floor and burn, baby burn at the hit musical Disco Inferno. The story of Faust is rehashed and brought to life in an explosion of hit songs, high energy dance routines and glitter-ball spinning action. This celebration of all things 70’s is our final show for the year and what a way to finish!
Disco Inferno is presented by the 2014 Showtime Award winning team of Rose Cowpar as Director and Richard Campbell as Musical Director. Bennie Gerber, whose amazing disco routine in Page to Stage wowed audiences, is choreographer. This acclaimed musical combines an hilarious script, fantastic characters and a score of the greatest hits from the 70s era including Celebration, I Will Survive, Crocodile Rock, Hot Stuff, Play that Funky Music, a Village People Medley, I Love to Love and, of course, Disco inferno.
It’s the summer of 1976. Outside, the weather is as hot as the fashion and passion are on the dance floor and our hero Jack is about to celebrate a 21st birthday he’ll never forget. Working late in a London Dance Club, ‘Disco Inferno’, Jack meets Lady Marmalade – the devil’s right hand lady. Dreaming of becoming rock star, he makes a pact with her, trading his soul for fame and fortune. Sound like an ideal bargain? Think again. He becomes an instant and international success. However, success proves hollow. Jack has fame and fortune but has lost the best thing in his life, his girlfriend Jane. If only he could turn back time and make one more trade, trading all he has for something far more important... love.
We’ve assembled an incredible cast for this show and welcome some amazing newcomers including Elandré Schwartz as Jack, Glen McIlroy as best mate Tom, Miliswa Mbandazayo as Tom’s girlfriend Maggie, Suiyen Smith as Kathy, Christopher Olivier as Heathcliffe and Charl Vollgraaff as Duke. Fresh from great reviews in Page to Stage are Bennie Gerber as stylist to the Stars, Nick Diablo and Jenna Deysel as the long suffering Jane. Also featured are Caitlin Smith, making a welcome return to our stage and Timothy Collier as DJ Terry D.
