FETE: Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin

The Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin will be celebrating its 190th Birthday this year. Founded in 1825, the Cathedral is the oldest church in Port Elizabeth. It has served thousands in our community over the years and has seen the face of Port Elizabeth change from an early settler town to develop into the beautiful city it is today.

Naturally the costs of maintaining an historical building like this are very high. And so, we invite the community of Port Elizabeth and those visiting our beautiful city to support the Cathedral in its efforts to maintain this beautiful building by joining us at our ANNUAL FETE on the 6th June at Walmer Town Hall (8am-12pm) in Main Road Walmer.

We will have a wide variety of goods on offer… everything from a Tea Garden with scones to stalls offering Freshly Baked Cakes &Treats and Crafts and Gifts. A highlight are always the Plant and Fresh Farm Produce Stalls. We will also be selling citrus fruits picked fresh from the farmers in nearby Addo. The Boerie Rolls, Curry Bunnies, Egg 'n Bacon Rolls and Koeksisters offer even more to those looking to spend a morning browsing and indulging in delicious eats. The always popular White Elephant stall will offer many bargains along with the Book stall. There will be something delicious to tempt everyone's taste buds! Don't miss out!
