The Route 67 is a celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 67 years of public life and meanders through our city’s CBD to view 67 giant steps and 67 public art pieces by 67 local Eastern Cape artists. Visitors on the guided tour will be taken past some of the Bay’s oldest monuments, art deco architecture and a series of open-air artworks. A combined experience of visual arts, urban design and heritage assets aims at uniting all segments of a formerly divided community and showing the world what magic exists in the post-apartheid era. Free guided tours will be held every Friday afternoon at 1pm from the Campanile (next to the bus station). Limited availability, bookings essential. Book your spot at www.mbda.co.za, or by calling 041 811 8200 or emailing info@mbda.co.za
