The biggest extravaganza of motor sport in 30 years will take place at
Aldo Scribante Race Circuit in Port Elizabeth on
13 and 14 August 2010.
Billed as the Novel Ford & Luk Coastal Challenge Ford & Friends Festival of Racing, it will comprise of a full day on Friday with all the cars out for practice.
In the evening at approx.7pm, the Drift Africa Cars will hold a drifting competition, which will take place at the lower end of the circuit, under floodlights.
Braai packs and bar facilities will be available at the Continental Hospitality Tent.
Secure camping facilities are available at the track.
Saturday starts with a Full English Breakfast, which will be served in the Continental Tent. The racing starts with qualifying at 9am and the first race at 10.30am.
An aerial display by Stu Davidson will take place during the day.
There will be over 130 entries for the day, with cars ranging from Chev Can Ams to Anglia’s, Porsche GT3’s, Ford GT 40’s, Lola, Lotus’s and Chevron Sports cars.
Old time favourites, such as the legendary Peter Gough and Koos Swanepoel, who were South African Saloon Car champions in the ’60’s, will be racing and will be happy to share their memories with us all
Entry to the circuit will only cost R30 per car. If you arrive in a Ford, then entry is FREE!
The pits are open to the public.
One exciting feature of the day, during the lunch break, will be to see how many Ford cars and Bakkies we can get on the Track at one time!.
The day ends with a 1 Hour Endurance race, after which a Currie & rice supper will be available at the Prize Giving.
A live band will provide music for all to enjoy, late into the night.
