Rubicon Great Zuurberg Trek E-bike Ride

The second MTB event added to the Great Zuurberg Collection promises to be a thrilling experience for e-bikers.

While other races have added e-bike categories on an informal basis in the past, the Rubicon Great Zuurberg Trek E-edition is the first event dedicated to e-bikes.

Over the course of three days, riders are offered the unique opportunity to explore the northern section of the Addo Elephant National Park, traditionally only accessible on horseback or foot.

Riders will pass through the citrus-lined Sundays River Valley, cross-cross the majestic Zuurberg mountains (with the option of soft pedalling of course) and be treated to panoramic views of the Indian Ocean to the south and the vast expanse of the Karoo to the north.

Participants also get to enjoy the thrill of speed on some world-class downhills and test their technical skills on the Hayterdale cross-country track.

Stages start and finish at the historical Zuurberg Mountain Village, which offers breathtaking views of the Addo Elephant National Park.
