Share the bay through your lens - Photography Exhibition

Visit the photography exhibition during the month of September, in celebration of Tourism month, and experience Nelson Mandela Bay through the lenses of locals and the vision of visitors. All the photos are up for sale and proceeds will go to local nonprofit,
Umzobo Wam. 

Photographers, creatives and Instagrammers were called to submit unique images of Nelson Mandela Bay which promote the people, adventure, heritage, nature as well as the city, using the #ShareTheBay and #ColoursofYouSA hashtags. From these submissions via social media, hundreds of images were selected to be showcased during the month of September at the Athenaeum -  one of the city’s national monuments, located on Belmont Terrace in Central. 

The public are invited to visit the Athenaeum during the month of September to view the exhibition where prints of the 10 selected photographers will be for sale as well as smaller prints shared online under the specified hashtag, featuring Nelson Mandela Bay. All proceeds will go towards Umzobo Wam, a local non-profit initiative supporting South African children in sharing stories of township life through art and photography.

The exhibition opens to the public on Thursday, 01 September and residents of Nelson Mandela Bay can look forward to additional Tourism Month celebrations including a Heritage Day Instameet and an EC blogger networking event.
