CELESTE NTULI WRAPS UP BLACK TAX NATIONWIDE TOUR AT THE BOARDWALK

Celeste Ntuli, better known as the queen of Zulu comedy

Guaranteed to have audiences in Port Elizabeth gasping for breath in October as they laugh at her authentic, self-written, witticisms is Celeste Ntuli, better known as the queen of Zulu comedy.

The Boardwalk Amphitheatre will host Ntuli as she wraps up her 2016 one-woman stand-up comedy tour, Black Tax, on 29 October. “We cannot wait to host Celeste who is such an exemplary South African woman and has achieved so much just by being who she is and doing what she loves,” said Nqobile Majozi, the Marketing Manager of The Boardwalk.

Not only is Ntuli known to attract audiences and have them in stitches with her hilarious, straight forward manner of addressing issues in the country, but she is also a familiar face on television where she stars in the popular soap, Isibaya, playing the award-winning role of Siphokazi Zungu, the oldest, infertile wife in a polygamous marriage.

Ntuli, has been quoted saying that it never entered her mind that she is a black woman doing comedy, and that she didn’t think beyond the fact that it was just what she wanted to do. Yet, she does it so well and often better than some of her fellow comedians of the opposite sex and different races.

Ntuli says she has no "sacred cows" when referring to issues she will not speak about. She is as bold, blatantly honest and hilarious as they come, and will knock you off your feet with her Black Tax show.  Black tax is something we have all paid, sometimes rather unwillingly, but his show is said to get audiences laughing at themselves and falling in love with their beautiful country all over again.

Be sure to catch this dynamic, laugh a minute comedian at The Boardwalk Amphitheatre on 29 October at 19h30. Tickets range from R 140 to R 165 per person and can be bought through Computicket.
