5FM Music Festival @ The Billabong Pro

Three days, just over 40 top local and international acts including UK indie rock band  Hard Fi, the 5FM Music Festival @ The Billabong Pro driven by Nissan Juke is set to become one of the country’s leading music festivals.

Get ready to rock the seaside town of Jeffrey’s Bay, as 5FM – recently voted the Coolest Radio Station at the Generation Next Awards for the 7th year running, teams up with Billabong and Nissan Juke for three days of pure musical mayhem from 13 to 15 July 2012.


While the day will belong to the surfing, where spectators can watch the Billabong Pro J-bay 2012, catching all the action as 144 local and international surfer’s battle it out on one of the most legendary surf spots, Supertubes, the night will most definitely belong to music.


With over R1 million spent on securing the biggest, hottest line up of just over top acts, festival goers will be rocking to the sounds of 5FM DJs Euphonik, Milkshake, C-Live, Nicole Da Silva and Angela Guastella as well as Ministry of Sound deck spinner Patrick Hagenaar. Hosted by 5FM’s Rob Forbes and Poppy Ntshongwana, the line-up also includes SA favorites like Prime Circle, Ard Matthews Affair, Taxi Violence, Shadowclub, PH Phat, Jack Parow, Flash Republic, 3rd World Spectator, Crash Car Burn, Mi Casa, Toya Delazy and Chiano Sky.

Giving the festival an international flavor are UK outfit Hard Fi, who headlined at the Glastonbury Festival last year and recently played to a capacity crowd at Wembley stadium in London, as well as legendary UK based guitarist Neil Taylor who played with Robbie Williams.


The festival will also boast live dance arenas and the world’s number one dance label, Ministry of Sound, will be taking control of the dance floor on Saturday night, bringing some of the hottest tracks on the planet to J-bay.



As with many of the coolest festivals across the globe, festival goers will have the option to camp
on site for the full three days, and food and beverages will be easily available. The free camp site will be equipped with all the necessary amenities.

Tickets are available at Computicket at R200 per day or R400 for the entire three days, camping included.
