After a long creative escape to pen his latest and fifth album on his farm just outside PE, Uptown Theatres invites singer-songwriter, Abel Kraamsaal to come and entertain the friendly city, the place he now calls home. The CD which is currently on the shelves and is enjoying media praise and currently nominated for best rock and best alternative album by Vonk Music Awards. Audiences all over are loving the fresh new Abel Kraamsaal.
It is not easy to categorise the specific style of Abel Kraamsaal’s music. It is original, unique and it rocks! Abel Kraamsaal is known as an uncomplicated romantic who loves rock ‘n roll. He does not limit his creativity by restricting his music to a specific genre. This is evident in his albums and this has become his style. He plays with the blues, a bit of country, ballads, warm rock ‘n roll, some English, mostly Afrikaans and pokes fun at life with his satirical and tongue in cheek songs that spare no high tree.
Kraamsaal began his career in 2002 when legendary Afrikaans writer and musician, Koos Kombuis, approached him to be his opening act for a few upcoming shows in Cape Town. The response from the crowd was so overwhelming that Abel decided to record his first EP “Woorde op ‘n Wynboks”. They still perform together quite often.
