Arise Women's Conference

When it comes to healthy relationships, there is no one-size-fi ts-all piece of advice, but rather a pattern that God has laid out for us in His Word. A good relationship is more than something we want, it is something we need in order to be our happiest, healthiest, and most productive selves. However, at home or at work, supportive, fulfilling relationships don’t
happen automatically, and require an investment of our time and energy - as well as learned social skills.

Relationships, as we have all discovered, can make life near amazing or almost unbearable. From as early as when we are in our mother’s womb we are taught lessons about life and relationships - both positive and negative. These lessons have an affect on the way we relate to God and to people, be it our own parents, in-laws, husband, children, family, colleagues, church family or friends.

Speaking truthfully about relationships, this year’s Arise Women’s Conference will be hosted by Pastor Mariana Crompton, who believes the 2016 theme will speak to the heart of every woman. “Many women are hurting in this area of their lives and are asking the questions:

‘How do I stay better? How do I keep healthy relationships?’”

The founder of non- profit organisation, Project Hope, visionary of the Arise Women’s Conference, and co-visionary of Word of Faith Christian Centre, Pastor Mariana has a passion to better the lives of women, children, and families in Port Elizabeth, the home of the Arise Women’s Conference. This year, the conference welcomes popular speakers: Timothy Kieswetter and ChiChi Bismark on to its stage. ChiChi, shares a powerful testimony about the power of prayer in her country and family.

She explains that, “Your prayer time with the Lord is like erecting an altar. You have to remember you have to be faithful on your altar because when you are not, the devil and his demons are.” Sharing the stage with ChiChi, is sought-after marriage coach and therapist, Timothy Kieswetter. Timothy has been happily married to his wife, Janet, for thirteen years and the couple have fi ve daughters. Concerning parenting Timothy believes, “Every child has an innate desire to see his or her parent as a hero. As a parent, there is nothing you really need to do to win your child’s respect and love, but can do things to lose it. You don’t have to be the best parent, just be an involved parent, that’s good enough.”

With its focus on relationships, this year’s Arise Conference aims to encourage women to be bearers of God’s light and colours in the world, and is centred on Matthew 5: 14-16.

Invite your girlfriends to a weekend of fun and fellowship with amazing coffee, delicious eats, beauty treatments and a wonderful atmosphere. Arise is the best place to wind down from the buzz of life and to focus on your own life, spiritually,
emotionally, and physically. Come and enjoy the journey, you won’t be sorry.
