ArtEC Gallery presents, “Art Beneath the Bark” a solo wood art exhibition by Ashwin Ramhith. The exhibition, held at ArtEC, 36 Bird Street, Central, will open on 21 May at 17h30 and will continue until 31 May 2013.
Ashwin’s specialty is unique “One of a Kind” handcrafted wood turned art. His work is an expression of himself and has evolved into a Creative Wood Artist after learning the art of Woodturning.
Wood from indigenous as well as invader trees, such as Wild Olive (Olienhout), Yellowwood and Jacaranda, to name a few, are turned and sculptured into “one of a kind” decorative bowls, vases and platters revealing the beauty that lies beneath the bark of the wood..
