Bilson Northern Arts Golf day

That time of year has arrived, when Bilson Music again host the Annual Bilson Northern Arts Golf Day trying to raise funds for the Annual Northern Arts Festival in the Northern Areas. On Tuesday 5th April the third annual fundraising golf day will be held at Port Elizabeth Golf Course.

The Northern Arts Festival was launched in 2007 and has since grown to one of the key events in the Eastern Cape. The festival, which takes place in September, needs an ongoing financial injection to secure its existence. The Northern Arts Festival has been marked as a historic event that put a spotlight on an area in the Nelson Mandela Bay that has been labeled as a dangerous and no good area.

For the past four years, the Northern Arts Festival was a great success with over 80 000 people attending the festivities over the four days. It is a heritage weekend celebration that does the Metro proud. Billy Paulson initiated the Northern Arts Festival with the primary goal of discovering and rediscovering of talent and promoting the arts, heritage, culture and creating a platform for budding young artists.

The golf day is open to all golfers with an official handicap in an 18-hole Individual Stableford competition, with the first tee off time at 11:16 am, Players will be provided with many „surprises”, in addition to the give-a ways that will sponsored by various businesses in the Metro. During the day there will interesting guests who make surprise appearances to take part in the event.

The organizers believe that the golf course will be once again burning with excitement when last year’s contestants together with this year’s hopefuls take the field with their golf bags and with the hope of taking home the magnificent hand carved wooden floating trophy sponsored by “The Trophy Guy” in addition to the prizes valuing over R25 000 in total. Wayne Kruger 2009 winner from Cape Town flew in especially for the competition and in addition also scored a hole in one.
