BKO Quintet Mali concert
Come to experience the extra energetic music from Mali, Western Africa!
The band BKO Quintet is now touring Southern Africa and will make a stop in the friendly city of PE the Sunday 26th of March for a unique concert. The venue is at Werk Space, in the Baakens Valley (inside Fratelli’s Food).
The Alliance is glad to partner with the NMMU Music Department as the first part of the concert will be The TwoTones Band known for its blend of proudly South African music, combining jazz and popular music.
Buy your ticket at the door or at the Alliance Française. Tickets go for R80 for university students and members of the Alliance and R100 for the general public.

BKO Quintet was born during the state of emergency in Bamako (2012), emerging from the meeting of four Malian and one French musician. Their music blends tradition and modernity, acoustic and electric sounds, harmony and trance in what they themselves call "trad actual".
BKO Quintet’s reputation as a live band is huge, with tens of concerts on all continents. Their tour in Southern Africa is organized and supported by the Alliance Française network and the French Institute of South Africa.
