to be a third or fourth year (or anyone) worried about :

1. The quality of your work
2. Whether your work will be selected
3. Your future life and career options
4. Spiritual/ ethical issues re responsibility & impact

Combine those concerns with the original
euphemism meaning “hard work” and I think
we have a title for people who are driven to compete
and achieve.
