The Boardwalk ends its 10th Birthday Celebrations with an Afrikaans Festival The Boardwalk will end its 10th Birthday Celebrations on a high musical note as they will be hosting a Meerfees, an Afrikaans Festival in partnership with Vodacom on the Boardwalk Lake on Sunday 31 October 2010. The month long celebrations kicked off with a celebratory parade on the streets of Port Elizabeth followed by a fireworks display which brought the Boardwalk night sky to life with a spectacular show of lights and colour enjoyed by more than 5000 spectators who came to witness the event. The Afrikaans Festival will be no different as people can look forward to a whole day of activity. There will be children’s’ entertainment, live broadcast by BayFM and delicious potjiekos and beverages offered by Boardwalk’s restaurants on retail. The main offering of the festival will be live performances by two popular Afrikaans entertainers Lianie May and Gerhard Steyn who will be gracing the lake stage supported by local entertainers. “Our 10th birthday celebrations have certainly been on everyone’s lips this October and what better way to end our birthday with our customers with an offering of great entertainment designed to suit the entire family” says Tanuja Gangabishun, Marketing Manager of the Boardwalk.
