Brass Studio Lunch Hour Concert
Join us for a vibrant lunchtime concert presented by the Brass Studio of the Nelson Mandela University Department of Music and Performing Arts.
This engaging programme opens with a selection of solo performances by talented student musicians: Kamvelihle Sanqela (tuba), Matthew Broom (trombone), Keriston Esau (trombone), Jamie Todkill (trumpet), and Larchanette Afrika (trumpet). The second half features the acclaimed Nelson Mandela University Brass Ensemble, performing works by von Suppé, Hazel, and Elgar.
The concert concludes with a lively tuba feature, The Carioca by Youmans, conducted by 3rd-year instrumental conducting student Akho Mtakatya, and featuring George Foster on tuba.
Take a midday break and enjoy an hour of dynamic brass music on campus.
