Carols by candlelight in Settlers Park

Join us for the annual event with a difference. Carols by candlelight in Settlers Park will start at 18.00 in Settlers Park off How Avenue, behind St George's Hospital. Bring along your camping chairs, blankets, picnic hampers and candles and get into the spirit of Christmas and being close to nature.

CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT IN THE BAAKENS VALLEY!

The Baakens Valley runs through the heart of Port Elizabeth and is one of the city’s treasures. This beautiful green belt needs preservation and our care.  The Baakens Valley Community Partnership of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, WESSA and other environmental groups, is working to grow the Baakens Valley as a safe community resource and functional conservation area, through strengthening community participation, socio-economic opportunities and increasing environmental education opportunities.  The BVCP is funded by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund.

The BVCP will be hosting its 4th annual Carols by Candlelight event in Settlers Park (How Avenue, off Park Drive).  This will be on Saturday 1st December 2011, starting at 6pm till 9pm.  We invite families to enjoy picnicking on the lawns; with local signing stars Niqui Cloete-Barrass and Marlize Kruger, and church and children’s choirs leading traditional and contemporary carols.  The public can also donate toys for a local orphanage.  Enquiries: Morgan Griffiths, WESSA, 041 585-9606 or morgan@wessaep.co.za
