Ceramic Exhibition

In present times, bringing Nature into the Home has developed into a multi-dimensional practice of symbolism and aesthetics. Forget about a pot plant here and there to light up a dim Victorian interior, green has moved into the home in a dynamic way.

A modern indoor garden is a planned space, set aside for the display, cultivation, and enjoyment of plants and other forms of natural objects. The concept of an indoor garden may vary from a sophisticated table center piece to a lively window sill arrangement, or it could become a sculptural form in its own right. It may be used as an aesthetic focal point in the home complimenting or relating to the furniture, the space or the way of living. It can revive a dead space in a house or serve a function in your everyday life. It may be used as a private space for worship or quiet contemplation.

Indoor gardens show a need for a constant link with Nature, be it opulent, simplistic, playful, aesthetic or realistic.
Nine ceramic artists were invited to create an indoor green space based on a ceramic structure or ceramic modules with a green component. Entrants were given the option of working with a partner outside of the ceramic field to create their indoor space.

Come and take a walk though our indoor gardens...
