Chilli Festival 2014 (PE)

The Chilli Festival 2014 in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape of South Africa takes place on the 29th and 30th March 2014. If you like your festivals a bit different then this is the place to go. The festival is clearly all about chillies but don’t worry there are foods and entertainment to suit all tastes. If you are feeling brave you can enter the famous chilli-eating competition to win the Habanero Trophy – but beware you will be asked to fill in an indemnity form! Chillies have been used to create all kinds of foods from chutneys to jams. You can even purchase your chilli plants here and grown your own at home.All sorts of vendors come along to sell their 'chilli-related' products and are encouraged to sell mild, medium and hot versions so that everyone can enjoy the food!If you like your food spicy and hot then get yourself along to the Chilli Festival at Victoria Park Eddie Mac Sports Club, Walmer, Port Elizabeth in March. Tickets are very reasonable priced. Last year they only charged R10 for adults and R5 for children. Doors open from10h00 to 17h00 each day.
