#CONCERT: Jazz Lunch Hour Concert

On 16 August at 13:00, two ensembles will be performing in the Jazz ensemble Lunch Hour Concert in the South Campus Auditorium, and will include the Nelson Mandela University Big Band. These two bands will present repertoire that is representative of a variety of jazz styles including Swing, Latin American and South African jazz repertoire.

In this regard the concert will feature works by Snarky Puppy, Dave Brubeck, Dexter Gordon, Buena Vista Social Club, Bheki Mseleku and Sisonke Xonti. A variety of instrumentalists will feature, including Jazz Studies lecturer and pianist, John Edwards, who will be performing several of his big band arrangements alongside students that range in proficiency from first year to Master's level.
