It is time for a new Mr. PORT ELIZABETH to be chosen to represent the people of the Nelson Mandela Metro. This prestigious event, in its TENTH consecutive year, has increasingly grown in stature since its inception in 2002. DIE BURGER BOARDWALK MR. PORT ELIZABETH is an indisputable highlight on the social calendar of the Eastern Cape and the Nelson Mandela Metro. DIE BURGER is the media sponsor of the competition. A daily circulation figure well into the 1000’s will ensure excellent coverage of the sponsors of the event. THE BOARDWALK came aboard as a joint naming right sponsor in 2010. Please be advised that this is not a modeling competition. The young gentleman chosen to fulfill the role of Mr. Port Elizabeth is not only to be the most dashing of all, but more importantly a young man to whom the city’s youth can look up to. Qualifying criteria to enter the competition entails a valid driver’s license, a minimum grade 12 level of education and sober habits. Entrants can be of any race, between the ages of 18-30, single or married. The 20 finalists will be introduced to the public at the Vodacom Amphitheater at the Boardwalk on May 2nd. This, their first public appearance, generates a lot of interest in the event and helps the entrants to get used to the limelight. The competition culminates in a fabulous and well attended gala evening at the Boardwalk Vodacom Amphitheater on the 4th of June.
