Die Burger Boardwalk Mr PE
HISTORY
Every year in June, a new Die Burger Boardwalk Mr PE gets chosen to represent the young men of the Nelson Mandela Metro. This prestigious title has increasingly grown in stature since its inception in 2001. The gala event is an undisputable highlight on the social calendar of the Eastern Cape.
Please be advised that this is not a modelling competition. The young gentleman chosen to fulfil the role of Mr PE is not only to be the most dashing of all, but more importantly a young man to whom the city’s youth can look up to. Past Mr PE’s have undoubtedly been much needed role models to the youth of the region. They were given building blocks and guidelines to further their careers and better their lives.
Die Burger Boardwalk Mr PE has a proud record of active involvement in social investment programmes in Port Elizabeth. The aim of the title is to embrace responsibility and encourage a positive impact through community activities.
The titleholder will support a variety of charitable organisations. He will be responsible to garner pro-active community involvement and corporate social responsibility support for the chosen charities.
All funds raised through various fundraising endeavours under Die Burger Boardwalk Mr PE title are administered by the official Mr PE Trust.
