Documentary - Troopship Tragedy

To complement the exhibition the Art Museum has organised the following public event:

The documentary, Troopship Tragedy, on the SS Mendi directed by Marion Edmunds will be screened at the Art Museum on Monday, 27 February at 14h30.

In the documentary which was organised for viewing by the Mandela Bay Development Agency, a young storyteller, Zwai Mgijima, takes the spectator through the circumstances and history of the SS Mendi tragedy through a collection of testimonies of South African and English descendants of the drowned men.

The documentary is 1 hour long and will be followed by a discussion between the public and one of the actors.
