Global Diabetes 5km
The number of people with diabetes rose from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. Prevalence has been rising more rapidly in low- and middle-income countries than in high-income countries.
Diabetes is a major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke and lower limb amputation
Across the globe, it’s estimated that a limb is amputated every 30 seconds, and 85% of these amputations are due to a diabetic foot ulcer.
Over 200 deaths PER DAY are related to Diabetes in South Africa.
Join us at SOMETHING GOOD ROADHOUSE and let's TAKE A STEP FOR DIABETES by inviting a friend to join you in a 5km walk/run on Saturday 25th November 2023.
