The Global Natural Fibre Forum (GNFF) is a knowledge-sharing platform about natural fibres and how they can be used in economic development and poverty alleviation. Developed by the Commonwealth Secretariat to allow individuals and organisations from Commonwealth countries around the world to access and share information that helps them to establish and grow natural-fibre based businesses. The Global Natural Fibre Forum is formed as a not-for-profit membership association governed by democratic rules and based on mutually-agreed-upon principles and values for promotion and usage of natural fibres worldwide. It aims to improve the conditions of the small producers/communities subsistent on natural fibres, which is also better for consumers and the environment. It also serves as an umbrella organization for national associations and member bodies to promote their growth and further the interests of primary stakeholders. Participating in the Global Natural Fibre Forum will help you to access the information you need to develop your business or economic development initiative. Our membership includes: natural fibre producers, manufacturers of value-added products, Civil Society, NGOs, international development agencies, retailers, brands, traders, private companies, research organizations, educational institutions, governmental and Intergovernmental bodies, financial Institutions, and individuals from all Commonwealth countries and for members from other countries involved in the natural fibre sector. This will make it possible to network and exchange information about natural fibres in relation to: technology, IT and machinery, resources (Natural Fibres sourcing), production facilities, expertise & training, production and processing techniques, advocacy and government policy, lobbying for favourable pricing and support for producers, design & product development, networking, sharing on material, market contacts, joint fairs exhibitions, joint collaboration for research and development financial sources, support, lobbying and micro-financing support, marketing and market support for small producers and more.
