Go 2 Explore Photo Exhibition Leon Hugo will be holding a photographic exhibition at the Ron Belling Art Gallery as part of the Go 2 Explore fund raising initiative for this year's Chevrolet, Johan Botha Cycle for Charity. The exhibition forms part of Go 2 Explore’s "to go the extra mile" campaign, and all funds raised from the sale of prints on show will go to the Chevrolet Johan Botha Cycle for Charity, to assist the three charities that are this year's beneficiaries. "I have been involved with Johan's cycle for charity over the past few years as the photographer of the event, and this year decided I wanted to give something back," said Hugo, who is behind the Go 2 Explore initiative. The exhibition, which has its official opening on the 19th of July and runs through to the 31st of July, has been divided into two parts. The first will showcase images of Port Elizabeth's renowned waterfront and water sport activities, specifically sailing, as well as the city's pristine beaches. The second part of the exhibition features high end artistic prints of African culture, ideal for tourism and bed and breakfast establishments. There will also be a room featuring a collection of prints relating to General Motors and Johan Botha as part of the Chevrolet Johan Botha Cycle for Charity event. Before the exhibition opens, Hugo, along with his support team, will be travelling 7,250km through Namibia over 22 days to raise funds through sponsorships from corporates and individuals. "I will also be giving away one of the prints from the exhibition to the individual who pledges the highest amount towards Johan's Cycle for Charity via the Go 2 Explore website before the opening of the exhibition." "The individual will be invited to the opening of the exhibition, which Johan will be attending, and will have his or her name displayed alongside the print for the duration of the exhibition," said Hugo. Hugo thanked the Ron Belling Art Gallery, which has generously donated the use of the gallery and Katz Digital which donated all the printing for the exhibition. "I really would like to encourage people to come and take a look at the prints, and to support Johan in what he is doing," said Hugo. The gallery will be open to the public from July 20th, between 10am and 4pm.
