INGOMA CONCERT SERIES AT MANDELA UNIVERSITY

Mandela University’s Department of Music and Performing Arts proudly launches its Ingoma Concert Series with a celebratory inaugural concert, An Operatic Evening, starring soprano Ernestine Stuurman and tenor Siphesihle Mdena. Concert patrons will be treated to vocal artistry of the highest calibre in a programme of works by Verdi, Puccini, Gershwin, Mozart, Donizzetti, and more. With Mario Nell’s sensitive and imaginative piano playing as musical backdrop, and a guest appearance by acclaimed baritone, Njabulo Mthimkhulu, the concert promises to enthral. 

An Operatic Evening will be held on Wednesday, 1 March at 19:30 at Mandela University’s South Campus Auditorium. Welcome drinks will be served in the Auditorium Foyer from 19:00. Tickets can be purchased at the door, for R100 (adults) and R80 (pensioners, scholars, and students).
