Jazz Lunch Hour Concert

Nelson Mandela University Jazz Lunch Hour Concert Wednesday 16 October 2019

Two ensembles will be performing including the Nelson Mandela University Big Band. Jazz Studies lecturers and ensemble leaders John Edwards (piano) and Curtis Kettledas (alto/tenor saxophone) will be performing alongside students that range in ability from first to fourth year.  

The two bands will present repertoire that is representative of a variety of jazz styles with a special focus on South African jazz repertoire. In this regard the concert will feature works by Snarky Puppy, Bheki Mseleku and Eastern Cape jazz legend Zim Ngqawana.
