JOIN US IN REBUILDING THE FUTURE FOR AFRICAN PENGUINS ON MANDELA DAY 18 JULY 2025

The African penguin is facing one of its greatest challenges yet. With the heart-breaking collapse of the colony on St Croix Island, these incredible birds are struggling to survive. But there’s hope—and YOU can be part of the solution! Join us for a Transformative Event.

We invite you to a powerful presentation on How to Rebuild a Penguin Colony in Algoa Bay at SANCCOB (South African National Centre for the Conservation of Seabirds). This is your chance to learn and discover how you can make a real difference in the fight to save these endangered birds.

This is more than just a cause - it’s a movement. Join us, take action, and be a part of something bigger. The African penguins need you now more than ever!

As Nelson Mandela once said:  “It is in your hands to make the world a better place”.

How Can You Help?

Donate Essential Items – SANCCOB needs your support to treat rescued chicks and penguins. Collect and donate items that directly aid in their rehabilitation.

Items required are:

·         Peaceful sleep sticks

·         Fly traps (red top)

·         Face cloths

·         HTH

·         Measuring jugs

·         Scissors

·         Packing tape

·         White board markers

·         Washing powder

·         Soft toys for chicks

·         And any amount of money will assist.

Give back with 67 Mandela Minutes – After visiting SANCCOB, take part in a beach clean-up east of the lighthouse. Every minute counts in ensuring a cleaner, safer environment for penguins and all marine life.

Make a Lasting Impact – Buy a penguin nest, a safe and cosy space that could help restore a vital penguin colony. Together, we can create a thriving future for these incredible creatures.
