Josh Roxton is an indie artist with a phenomenal vocal ability and unique sound. He is a self-taught solo acoustic artist that will make even the most skeptical of critics sit up and take notice. After singing in bands for many years he decided to go solo in early 2011. In that year he won the Gibson Acoustic Competition, the Marshall Music ‘Home of the Acoustic Guitar’ Competition and placed second in the Paco Rabanne Black XS Varsity Talent Competition. Early in 2012 Josh packed up his stuff and moved to a place more reflective of himself – Cape Town (he is a self- proclaimed ‘coasty’). Until the beginning of 2015 Mr Roxton gigged the scene as a solo act but has now joined forces with a glorious fire bearded man by the name of HERKI! His strictly no sticks approach is as refreshing as it is innovative. With a cajon under his arse, a kick under his right foot and a tambourine under his left, he sets the pace and the mood with percussive precision.
