Last Dance

The Last Dance a light hearted African Musical, sponsored by the Local Organising Committee of the 2010 Fifa World Cup will be presented by Swii Arts Ammendment will be performed on the Main Stage of the Opera House on Sunday 13 June at 12:00, Wednesday 16 June at 18:30, Thursday 17 June at 18:30 and Monday 5 July at 18:30. 

The show, devised and directed by Monde Ngonyama will have well known accomplished actors such as Nobesuthu Rayi as the uncertain bride; the daughter of Gogo (the internationally famous Nomhle Nkonyeni; Boy the unfortunate bridegroom (Anele Penny); and former boyfriend, Phil (Benito Carelsen). Other actors include Sifezelwe Mbeka, Zukiswa Cakucaku and Xolani Ngesi. 

The story takes place a day before the wedding while the band that will entertain the masses is rehearsing at the bride’s shebeen. It is a weaving of light drama and live music directed by Bongani Tulwana. The music is performed by a collaboration of the Nelson Mandela Bay musicians comprising, Thanduxolo Malamela, Andile Stemele who have just returned from Tunisia, Dube Majola and on Vocals Edward Lungu and Futhi Zuma, Melikhaya Huegh, Thembeka Mfabana and Sifezelwe Mbeka. Bongani Tulwana plays rhythm guitar and saxophone.
