Lower Guinea Fowl Hiking Trail Hike
27 September 2011 - 27 September 2011
The 7,5 kilometre trail meanders along the edge of the Baakens River flood-plain, and passes through a steep-sided valley below the city suburbs and offers an easy walking experience in the midst of wildflowers, trees and blue water lilies. It is also excellent for bird watching and the occasional dassies, leguaans, tortoises and lizards.
The hike, in celebration of September tourism month, world tourism day and Nelson Mandela Bay’s ‘I Love NMB’ campaign, will be led by experienced hiking guides. Hikers will meet at How Avenue parking behind St. Georges Hospital and will be shuttled to the start where hikers will pick up their cars at the end of the hike. Please bring along water to drink, comfortable shoes, sun block and a hat.
Please note that if there is rain on the day the hike will be postponed.
