Mandela Bay Fashion Week™

Beginning on the 6th of October 2016, through numerous shows over a three-day period, the first annual Mandela Bay Fashion Week™ grants Eastern Cape designers –both recognized and up-and-coming –a platform to expose their autumn/winter collections to the industry’s well established fashion houses, media and buyers. One of the 3 days will be dedicated to designers displaying their brands in a runway and pop up store format, for potential buyers and talent scouts to view or purchase.

From known fashion designers to emerging artists, the Bay’s fashion week will feature the whole ball of wax, from stylish outfits, ready-to-wear pieces and wedding couture, to the latest expansions in street wear and menswear. Apart from the fashion show, a conference on the opening day from industry leaders, will give aspiring designers business advice and tips on how to gain insight and fresh ideas about where fashion as a whole is headed in years to come.

The organisers, Brand Shack (Pty) Ltd, have selected the Tramways building in Port Elizabeth as a venue to give this event a revitalised perspective against a magnificent setting in the centre of Nelson Mandela Bay’s historical Infrastructure. Brand Shack (Pty) Ltd’s owner and managing director, Llewellyn Williams is committed to making this year's production one that will allow Nelson Mandela Bay to trend both locally and nationally.

Thus far, the organisers have partnered with energy drink brand, Mofaya Eastern Cape, as well as the Mandela Bay Development Agency.

Tickets are currently available at Computicket. Early Bird tickets are also available through Computicket at a discounted price until the end of July this year. Designers based in the Eastern Cape region wanting to take part should send their brand profiles with pictures to apply@nmbfw.co.za before the end of August.
