NMMU Le Strada Chorale - Fund Raising Concert

The NMMU Le Strada Chorale gladly represents to you it's first concert for the year, on 13 May 2017, 13:00 at NMMU South Campus Auditorium in Summerstrand.

A fundraising concert, will showcase some finest musicians from Port Elizabeth. The St John's Methodist Church Choir and the NMMU XM Choir will join NMMU Le Strada Chorale in a collaborative concert for the first time.A prestigious pianist from Port Elizabeth, Mr. Lorenzo Alexander will accompany the choirs as they perform great classical and popular action & folklore songs.

The first half of the concert will present works by AA Khumalo; Songs from Musa Xulu's House of Shaka ; Enoch Sontonga ;and Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio, St Paul. The St John's Methodist church Choir will end this session with great classical renditions.

The second session will Present SJ Khosa's famous song about the power of music, Matimba Avuyimbeleri; action and traditional folklore songs. This half will be concluded by great renditions from the NMMU XM Choir.

The third session will truly be the highlight of the day. The audience will be given an opportunity to request any song they like from the choir of their choice. This session will be concluded by a great feast from all 3 choirs collaborated.

Tickets are available and can be collected from any member of the participating choirs.
