The Galaxy Bingo ONE12RUN is an exciting new endurance trail run event at Grass Roof in Port Elizabeth on Sunday 29 September in aid of four deserving charities, with music, food and entertainment for all.
Trail runners, walkers and those who just love to push their bodies to the max are invited to Nelson Mandela Bay’s first ever Galaxy Bingo ONE12run on Sunday 29 September at the Grass Roof in Sardinia Bay.
The Galaxy Bingo ONE12run is a 12-hour challenge which starts at 6am and takes participants round the 5km trail route used for the Sardinia Bay parkrun as many times as they can handle before the 6pm cut-off that same day.
Entrants will be putting it out there for a great cause as entry fees from the ONE12run endurance event will go to four deserving charities:
• Children’s cancer charity Rainbows and Smiles
• African wildlife conservation group One Land Love It
• SA Veterinary Association Community Veterinary Clinics
• The Herald Christmas Cheer Fund
ONE12run is the brain child of Port Elizabeth ultra-marathon runner Steven Lancaster who is always on the lookout for novel fundraising ideas through his RazeABar project.
"It is easy enough to enjoy, and challenging enough to keep runners and walkers engaged the whole time,” says Steven, a well-known face on the city’s charity landscape as he is also Beggar-in-Chief for the Cheer Fund.
"Spectator support spots are plentiful so we’re hoping to get colleagues, family and friends out for an entertaining day.”
The ONE12run is open for everyone, regardless of fitness level. In addition to the 12 hour enduro there will be a 5km fun run, a 50km ultra and relay teams of two and four members are also welcome.
It is shaping up to be a festive weekend in the countryside as there will be live entertainment, refreshments along the route for the enduro and ultra participants and the reward of a delicious meal at the Grass Roof at the end of your day on the trail.
Nelson Mandela Bay IT firm S4 Integration will present an additional Fun Walk on Saturday, the S4 Cares charity fun walk.
The first 300 participants will receive a goody bag. Sponsors include:

Entries are now open for ONE12RUN online at www.MyActive.co.za. You may also register on Saturday 28 September between 10am and 2pm during the S4 Cares event, and late entries will be accepted on the Sunday morning from 5am.
