PE Music Society presents - Andrey (violin) and Maria (piano) Baranova
Andrey Baranov is a winner of the Benjamin Britten and Henri Marteau International Violin Competitions, and a prize-winner of more than twenty other international competitions, including Indianapolis, Seoul, Sendai, Liana Isakadze, David Oistrakh, Paganini (Moscow) international competitions. Andrey is a first violinist of David Oistrakh Quartet, an outstanding ensemble established in 2012. Born in St Petersburg in 1986 into a family of musicians, Andrey began playing the violin at the age of five. He attended the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St-Petersburg and Consevatoire de Lausanne.
Maria Baranova was born in 1988 into a family of musicians, beginning her piano studies at the age of five. When she was ten, she began to play in ensemble with her brother, Andrey Baranov. From 2010 until June 2015, Maria was a student of the Conservatory of Lausanne (HEMU) in Switzerland where she got her two master degrees under Professors Marc Pantillon and Christian Favre.
