Every year South Africans celebrate Women's Month during the month of August to pay tribute to the 20 000 plus women who marched to the Union Buildings on the 9th August 1956 in the protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women.

Pretty in Pink 5km has been established to celebrate all the women in our country and paint our city PINK! Sprint, run, walk, jog, speedwalk we don't mind as long as you are wearing something pink and a smile on your face!
