Public Penguin Release

We have some exciting news! We are hosting a public penguin release for the first time in almost 2 years. Join us at SANCCOB in the Cape Recife Nature Reserve on Sunday12 December 2021. Please note due to the increase in covid-19 cases country-wide we won't be allowing large groups of people inside the centre on the morning of the release. The event will be held outside and on payment, we will issue a voucher for people to visit the centre for a tour at a later stage. This is our way of protecting and keeping our visitors and staff safe from Covid.

Tickets sales will start at 09h30 and at 10h30 we will be sharing short stories about the penguins that we will be releasing – this will take place on the grass verge outside the entrance. The actual penguin release will take place at 11h00. There will be cooldrinks for sale as well as selected shop items too.

Admission is R60 for adults and R40 for pensioners and children 12 years and younger.
Strict COVID-19 protocols will be followed.
